Monitoring plots were established in 2004 and 2005 at approximately 250 locations around the state of Michigan. Overall species composition, slope, and soil texture are measured at 5-15 locations at each plot, as well as the size and health of the ash tree closest to each sampling point.

The Monitoring Plot Protocol Handbook (7.7 MB PDF file or 7.3 MB zipped PDF file) describes the form of the monitoring plots and the variables that are being measured at each plot.
